We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The Forbidden Corner has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Visit York Tourism Awards 2027!

What Are the Visit York Tourism Awards?

The Visit York Tourism Awards celebrate the pinnacle of excellence across the tourism and cultural sectors in York and North Yorkshire. The awards shine a spotlight on attractions (like us!), hospitality venues, and individuals who consistently go the extra mile to create exceptional, memorable experiences for visitors. Judged by an independent panel, the winners from eligible categories are also put forward for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence! To be recognised alongside such an outstanding lineup of local businesses is an incredible honour for our entire team.

Thrilled and Hopeful

Being named a finalist is a massive testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of everyone here at The Forbidden Corner. From the groundskeepers who maintain our winding labyrinths and gardens to the team members delivering our very best hospitality, everyone plays a vital role. Even those bringing our wilder ideas to life, whether that’s terrifying brave guests at our 16+ Forgotten Corner scare event or taking Cinder and Scorch the dragons to meet the crowds at the Great Yorkshire Show, pour their hearts into making this strangest of places truly magical.

We are incredibly hopeful as we look toward the awards ceremony on the 11th of March 2027. Taking home a win would be the ultimate reward for the passion our team brings to ensuring our visitors have a brilliant day out. We just have to make sure one of our dragons doesn’t claim the trophy for their treasure hoard, or we’ll never see it again!

Looking to the Future

This nomination has given us a tremendous boost of energy as we begin planning our 2027 season. We are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of our attraction and conceal even more surprises within our grounds. As we move into 2027, we have plenty of new ideas brewing to ensure that every visit remains packed with mystery, oddities, and unforgettable memories.
